Hello sparkly friends! Designer Vicki here with you today to share a Spring themed card design with lots of fun Sparkle N Sprinkle products (and a re-visit of the fun Magic Speckle EP [EP175] ) including this month's new release from the May Showers Rubber Stamp Set Bundle [00-920-923P20]!
Well I couldn't choose just ONE stamp set to play with, so for this card, I've decided to incoporate both rubber stamp sets to have a play with! And what's great is the fact that you can get a nice discount when you purchase the bundle set of these instead of the individual sets!
Here are the Sparkle N Sprinkle products used on my card today:
Glitters: Sunny Daze [G1038]
Ink: VersaMark [VM001]
Tools/Dies: Tonic Basics Scalloped Square dies [1453E]
Other Products: Nuvo Blue Blitz Shimmer Powder [1208N]
I started with my images that I heat embossed with the SNS White embossing powder over some Bristol Smooth Watercolor paper. I colored in the images with some Clean Color Real Brush Markers for a watercolor look. I fussy cut them out (including the two yellow bows with scissors.)
For the background of my card panel, I took another piece of watercolor paper and spritzed it with some water to get it nice and wet before sprinkling on some of the Nuvo Blue Blitz Shimmer Powder. I manipulated the piece by letting the water drops fall downwards like rain drops. After this piece finished drying, I cut it out with the Tonic Basics Scalloped Square Dies.
As you can see on the blue watercolor background, I've added the raindrops by stamping them with my VersaMark ink and heat embossing it with the Magic Speckle embossing powder. (Remember this is a tad bit thicker, so it helps to heat it from underneath. As you can see that although this is a clear powder, it has a gorgeous pearl sheen which I thought made for a stunning raindrop backround over the blue watercolor!) I also added some Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops, which dries glossy and clear, for the center of each of the raindrops for a bit more texture and wet water look.
I actually heat embossed the sentiment BEFORE I did the raindrop background so it wouldn't be difficult to center it where I wanted it. It was heat embossed with the Coffee EP. I also used this same embossing powder to heat emboss along the edges of another piece of cardstock that was layered behind the watercolor panel too.
For the base of the card, I took some blue cardstock and then placed a white paper doily over it that I glued with the SNS Dimensional Glue. I then took a strip of the 1/2" Tear-iffic Tape and ran it diagonally across the card base and burnished some Sunny Daze glitter into it.
I layered the watercolor and heat embossed edged panels over the card base by adding some dimension with a piece of craft foam attached with glue. I finished the design by adding my fussy cut images where I wanted them (including the two yellow bows) with some foam dots.
Putting together this card was so much fun and has me longing for that rainy Springtime weather...how about you?
