Hello, Diane on the blog with you today with a
Card In a Box.
This was a super fun card to make and very colorful
and it folds up flat to mail!
I used the newly released June stamp set
choosing the smaller butterflies in the set for this project.
I first stamped with Versamark several butterflies with the solid butterfly stamp.
I embossed each butterfly with Gold Detail embossing powder,
then using Versamark once again I stamped the detailed butterfly stamp over the top
and embossed with various colors of embossing powder.
I used Beach Cruiser in this photo
All the butterflies were then fussy cut out.
I then stamped flowers and leaves from the
Build A Flower stamp set, colored with Copics
and fussy cut out using the Tonic 5" mini scissors.
Once they were all cut out I added Sakura Glue Pen to each flower and leaf,
To the flower centers I added Nuvo Crystal Drops Ebony Black,
then set aside to dry.
The box card itself is pretty easy to make,
there are lots of videos to reference too....
this one basically was to cut a piece of card stock 8 1/4" by 9"
Score along the 9" edge at 2 1/8" 4 1/4", 6 3/8" and 8 1/2".
Turn 90 degrees and score at 2 3/4".
With the 8 1/4" side on top and the 2 3/4" score to the left, cut to measure 6".
With the 2 3/4" side at the top, cut along the small square score lines and trim off tiny strip left over.
It should look like this...adhere closed with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape.
Add a few pieces of card stock strips across the center of the box opening
close to the top, this gives a place to attach whatever you are putting in the card opening.
(like I mentioned, it really is easier to watch a youtube video of how to make, however
it is super easy)!!
Using a bit of leftover plastic packaging material,
cut a few strips to mount your butterflies on.
Because it is clear it looks as though the butterflies are flying!
Place your flowers and butterflies on the end of the plastic strips and
place where you want them in the box.
Here are a few other views of the box from different angles.
The finished card!
Thank you for visiting with me today!
