Hello friends!  Vicki here today to share a card I made using the stunning new stamp set released this month called Early Spring Nest [00-932-P5]

With the feel of Spring in these images, it's a great way to lift your winter blues!

Here's the supply list used on my creation today:

Embossing Powders:

Coloring Mediums:

I've started out with the background of my design by sprinkling some of the Nuvo Blue Blitz Shimmer Powder over a piece of paper and spritzed it with water and moved the piece around until I was happy with the results.  After it was completely dry, I dusted it with the Static Free Bag and took the Crackle Background Stamp (such a great versatile stamp to have in your collection!), stamped it in VersaMark and heat embossed it with the Robin's Egg embossing powder.  (Sounded like the perfect pairing for my card!)

You can also see the background layers on my design which was created by taking the VersaMark ink pad and smudging the edges of a piece of white cardstock and heat embossing it with the Coffee embossing powder.  I did this for the scalloped edge layer as well as the layer behind the sentiment banner.  I made my own banner by creating the fishtail with my Tim Holtz 5" Mini Scissors.

The sentiment as well as the nest image was also heat embossed with the same Coffee embossing powder.  So you can see that it works great for detailed images as well!  Love the Copper sheen with the flecks of darker brown in it!  I then mounted all of these layers onto a white top folding A2 sized card base.

I wanted to share the close up details of my colored image.  I've used some watercolor markers to color it in with.  The embossed lines help to keep the color contained from running where you don't want it to go.

For the eggs, I took the VersaMarker pen to color in the eggs and then added the Robin's Egg embossing powder to it to get that fun "egg" look!  I used my TH Mini Scissors to fussy cut the image out and mounted it with some foam tape, added a couple of feathers from my stash and attached it to the card front.  Lastly I added a few drops on the card with the Nuvo Dazzling Blue Glitter Drops.

Hope you've been inspired by my card today!  Thanks for dropping by!
