Hello friends! Designer Vicki here with you today sharing some inspiration using this month's new release Winter Deer [00-935P5]. Although I've been trying to sneak Spring in with my creations, it's always great to be able to create some Christmas/Winter type of cards throughout the year so that you are not rushed and you can take your time to make some wonderful cards to have ready when the time comes around at the end of the year! :)
Here's the SNS product list used for my card today:
Glitters: Sparkling Snow [G1003]
Ink: VersaMark [VM001]
Embellishments: Nuvo Crystal Drops Red Berry [667N]
Tools/Dies: Tim Holtz 5" Mini Scissors [816E]
After I had colored the deer with Copic markers, I fussy cut it out (VERY carefully) with scissors and used the glue pen to sprinkle the glitter over the branches. I then used the Nuvo Red Berry Crystal Drops to add dots over the "berries" on the image and then set it aside to dry.
Then you can see that I took the Nuvo Shimmer Powders to create a pretty blue winter background over a watercolor paper panel. Mixing the green and blue colored shimmer powders made for a very pretty multi-colored background. I then used an oval die to cut out this piece for the deer.
I used the deer image to place on my oval for reference so that I could see where I wanted to put the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink and heat set it with the white embossing powder. The Magic Speckle EP is very unique as you can see. There was no need to use anything to attach it because it's a somewhat thick powder, so I just piled on some powder over my panel and heat set it from underneath it to get this gorgeous shimmery look...like ice! (I will be using it again very soon! So stayed tuned for a different way to use it!)
After attaching all of the panels on the oval, I die cut a piece of white cardstock that was also attached with a Super Adhesive Sheet. After die cutting it, I removed the release paper to reveal the "sticky" side and then burnished the entire panel with the same glitter that I used on the deer image.
I then attached this layer onto the gold mirror and added some organdy ribbon tied with a bow that I added a snowflake sequins to the center and put a dot of dimensional glue in the center and added more glitter over top of that. These panels were all attached to an A2 sized top folding white card base.
