Rose Heart card by Vicki with January Video Kit Club!

Hello friends!  Vicki here to share a card I made with the January release Rose Heart stamp set.  This is also the base of inspiration for Demo Donna's January Video Kit Club which I'm very honored as I'm a huge fan! :)  If you haven't seen any of her videos, be sure to subscribe to the Sparkle N Sprinkle You Tube Channel!

This is such a great layered image stamp set to play with and so many possibilites to create your own look!  I hope to play with it again in the near future!

Here's the list of Sparkle N Sprinkle products that I've used on my card today:

Stamps:  Rose Heart stamp set [939]

Embossing Powders:  Antiquities [EP266], Sparkle [EP107]

Ink:  Nuvo Rose Garden Hybrid Ink Pads [83N], VersaMark [VM001]

Adhesives:  SNS Dimensional Glue [539]

Embellishments:  Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen [888N]

Tools/Dies:  Tonic Layering Traditional Heart Dies [1459E], Static Free Bag [99512], Tweezers-Fiber Grip [510TWP]

Feature Techniques:  "Emboss Resist" & "Layered Embossing"

For my card, I first rubbed the blank panel with my Static Free Bag and stamped the image from the stamp set randomly along the edges with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed it with the Antiquities embossing powder.  Love the pretty antique detailed look of this!  I then used the "Pink Sherbet" ink cube from the Nuvo Rose Garden Hybrid ink collection and a foam ink blending tool and sponged this pink ink around the edges and over top of the heat embossed images.  This is called an "Emboss Resist" technique in which you can blend ink over top of heat embossed images and the ink will 'resist' it and not cover up your embossed areas.

As you can see after I've heat embossed the images and sponged the ink around the edges, I took my VersaMark ink pad and rubbed along the edges of it which acts as sort of a sponge.  I applied the Antiquities embossing powder where I swiped the VersaMark pad and heat embossed it again.

For the main image panel, I stamped the solid image from the Rose Heart stamp set with the Pink Sherbet ink cube and then I've used the second layer and stamped it with the Spanish Sangria ink cube from the Nuvo Rose Garden Hybrid Ink Collection. I brushed the completed heart rose image with an Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss Pen over it for additional shimmer.

I also heat embossed the sentiment for the stem of the flower as well as the third detailed image layer with the same Antiquities embossing powder.  I have also went around the edges of this panel with the pink ink and the same heat embossed technique metioned in the above paragraph.

For the two small hearts, I have used both the Pink Sherbet and Spanish Sangria ink cubes to color a strip of white cardstock with my foam ink blender.  I used the Tonic Layering Traditional Hearts Dies and took the smallest size to cut them out with.  I've also done this for the corners I've made on my design.  (You can check out Demo Donna's version in her video below to see how she made hers.)

After cutting out my inked up hearts, you can see where I've went around the edges of the heart with my VersaMark ink pad again and heat embossed with the Antquities embossing powder.  After that, I have used the Sparkle embossing powder to heat set some clear sparkle over top of the entire heart.  I did this by laying the hearts flat and inking up the whole heart with VersaMark ink and heat setting them. (You really need a pair of Tweezers for this so you don't burn your fingers when holding it to heat set!)  I attached them to the design with some foam dots.  This is a fun "Layered Embossed" technique to try out for both a glitter and heat embossed look which makes for really awesome accents on your creations!

Lastly of course I used the SNS Dimensional Glue to help me attach the corners, layers and ribbon for the design.

Demo Donna has such a gorgeous take on this design using LOTS of very pretty glittery products for her card.  (I need to put them on my list to get!)  Be sure to check out the awesome products included in this month Video Kit Club and watch the video below to see how she put it together:
